Water and from experiment

What is water? Water is something that we need in our life. It is a very important substances, as it makes up the larger part of an organism's body. A water molecule consists of three atoms; an oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms, which are bond together like little magnets. The atoms consist of matter that has a nucleus in the centre. Water is in feature of liquid, there is no color, smell or even a taste on water. However, water would be able to change, it depends on a temperature. As we all know, when we put pure water to refrigerator, the water would be colder. Especially if we put it on freezer, water will change in term of liquid to be solid that we called “ice”. I tried to build up the experiment about the transformation of the water but instead of using only water, I also tried with other ingredient then freezed it.

 In my first experiment, I try to use soda, which is quite tingling because inside soda bottle contain high pressure of carbon dioxide, then try to pour into the glass.

 

 

Experiment1

 

In the first experiment, I have brought the soda, which is a liquid that contain high pressure of carbon dioxide to use. I mixed it with oil. Oil is a liquid which is stable and when mixed with water it will separate into 2 layers, Oil will stay on top of the water. But for the new transformation, I have try pouring oil into soda before bring it into freezing room. As I pour the oil into soda, the reaction represents on the oil which oil stay up on the soda makes the bubbles shown up.

After I mixed soda with the oil, I also mixed it again with alcohol. The hypothesis was its might have the third layer, but it isn’t shown like that. The alcohol osmosis through the oil and goes down to the soda, which make the soda turn into blue color from clear color and the soda lost its ability of tingling.

Then, I put it into the freezer for one whole night. During it was in the freezer I open and have a look sometimes, the layer between soda and alcohol seem to be no transformation that is so different from using the water or soda, there is only big different is just soda color turns into blue. But the changed of the oil layer seem to be new things, it is slowly changed its characteristic which is look similar to the jelly eventhough I left it’s over night it still soft like jelly and not frozen like water or soda.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Experiment 2

I have observed the transform of ice back to water, by melting.

In this experiment I use 4 different container which has build up different material of its surface; plastic glass, coffee cup which is breakable metal glass and glass. First I bring 4 ice cube which it’ size are approximately the same and put each of it into four containers at the same time and approximately same temperature and same state, never the less.

Before I have an observation I have predicted that metal must be the best container that can keep object to be cool, from this hypothesis, so I judged that the ice in metal glass will melt slowest.

First 15 minutes after I have observed the first glass that melt is normal glass, the ice melted very fast, and the second was the coffee cup, the third one was the metal glass, which means that my hypothesis is wrong, the slowest one is plastic glass, which ice stay longest.

From this I can concluded that the container that can keep ice to melt slowest is plastic glass, metal glass, coffee cup, and then the normal glass as in order.
